Throughout history and in cultures across the globe a midwife has never been just a technician…She stands at the meeting place of life and death and the crossing point of generations. She works with both the physiological and spiritual aspects of the process of coming into being (Shelia Kitzinger, Foreword, in Page, 2006).
Midwives and Master of Midwifery students at the University of Canberra will be adding pages to this blog exploring web-based strategies for promoting physiological birth – pregnancy, labour and after. Please check back regularly for updates to these pages.
